Hi everyone!

As we all progress down this path of water sensitive urban design, there comes a time when we begin to maintain our stormwater treatment assets. There was once a time where we began to maintain our water and sewerage assets, and now is the time where we are beginning to maintain our stormwater treatment assets.

As we begin this maintenance, there is a good chance that we’ll be doing it without large budgets. That’s fine. We can do great things with just a little money, but it requires us to understand how to prioritise which assets to maintain, and which to park for attention later.

This episode is the first in a two part series looking at how we prioritise maintenance. This episode look at which bioretention systems to prioritise. The second episode looks at how to prioritise maintenance when we have multiple different types of systems, some of which are ‘green’ (e.g. wetlands, bioretention etc) and some of which are ‘civil’ (e.g. trash racks, underground GPTs etc).

I decided to publish these two episodes now as a companion to a piece that I have written for Stormwater Australia’s February 2016 bulletin on this topic.

Thank you to Stormwater Australia for the opportunity. Thank you to you all for reading and watching and I look forward to chatting with you soon.

Cheers
